The blazing red hedge plant as an alternative to green screening shrubs

Photinia Devil's Dream is probably one of the most sought-after glossy medlars. Devil's Dream lends every garden, balcony or patio a very special, individual touch. Over the year, Devil's Dream changes colour several times, creating a varied visual effect in the garden. The red leaf colour lasts longer than with conventional photinias and stays until late summer. "Compared to common photinias, the colour of the Devil's Dream shoots is more intense and lasts much longer", states Uwe Behrens from Behrens Pflanzen.

Another special feature of Photinia Devil's dream is its compact, upright growth. While other photinias form a rather loose hedge, Devil’s Dream stands out with its short shoots. The resulting strongly branched growth quickly forms a privacy screen. The pruning-tolerant photinia achieves a growth of up to 50 cm per year and quickly closes the hedge into a dense wall. In addition to its function as a hedge, Photinia Devil's Dream can also be used as a solitary garden feature or as a colourful evergreen pot plant.

On the sales floor, the Devil's Dream instantly strikes attention. The concept is based on eye-catching packaging. The plants are offered in a prominent, bright red container. A coloured flame label and the eye-catching green-red logo lettering get to the heart of the concept's USP. Devil's Dream is available in pot sizes from 4 to 10 litres. An extensive press campaign in numerous garden, home and lifestyle magazines is drawing additional attention. The print media included the two magazines GartenSpaß and Selber machen. Both magazines devoted extensive coverage to the planting of the Devil's Dream as a hedge in September 2020, supported by the brand’s own photo spread on the topic. In the GartenSpaß magazine, the fiery Devil's Dream even made it onto the front cover. The Devil's Dream's TV presence also increased significantly in 2021. In a report of the BR (Bayerischer Rundfunk), for example, the fiery hedge was a popular topic. The interplay of good pruning tolerance, the unique leaf colouring and the sophisticated PR campaign set the pace for another successful year for the Devil's Dream.
